The Beginning: Why I Write
For me, writing children’s books is more than a career — it’s a calling. My mission is to heal, teach, and inspire through storytelling. Every book I create is designed to build confidence, encourage kindness, and spark curiosity about the world around us.
AUTHOR JOURNEY AND BOOK NEWS
It Started With My Daughter
When I first started writing children’s books, my audience was just one person — my daughter. I wanted to give her stories that not only entertained her, but also taught her important lessons in a way that felt natural and loving. Every bedtime story or weekend read was a chance to show her the values I hoped she would carry with her: kindness, resilience, curiosity, and pride in who she is.
Over time, I realized these stories could do more than speak to just my own children. They could reach other kids, other families, and spark the same kind of connection we shared during those moments. That’s when Eden Veaux Books truly came to life.
Inspired by My Grandmother’s Wisdom
Long before I ever became a mother, my love for storytelling started with my grandmother. She had a special gift — she could take a Bible story and tell it in a way that made perfect sense to me, even as a child. Sitting with her, listening to her voice, I didn’t just hear stories; I learned lessons I could carry into everyday life.
Those moments taught me that the most powerful stories are told with care. They’re relatable. They have characters and situations you can see yourself in. They stay with you long after the book is closed. That’s the kind of magic I try to bring into every book I write.
Writing With a Purpose
For me, writing children’s books is more than a creative outlet — it’s a calling. My mission is to heal, teach, and inspire through stories that build confidence, encourage kindness, and spark curiosity about the world.
I don’t write to preach or point fingers. I write to gently guide, the way my grandmother guided me. My books are like a gentle hand on the shoulder, a quiet cheer from the sidelines, or a warm hug after a long day.
You’ll find stories about trying again after failure, asking questions when something doesn’t make sense, facing fears, caring for others, and celebrating cultural traditions. Some stories shine a light on everyday moments that shape who we are, while others open the door to exploring new perspectives and experiences.
Creating a Space for Connection
One of the most special things about children’s books is that they create space for important conversations between kids and the grownups who love them. Whether you’re reading before bed, during a quiet afternoon, or in a busy classroom, these stories give room to talk about feelings, differences, and dreams.
I want every reader — child or adult — to walk away from my books feeling seen, understood, and inspired to make their own mark on the world.
A Legacy of Love Through Stories
In many ways, my books are my way of continuing the legacy my grandmother gave me. She showed me that stories could be more than entertainment — they could be tools for building character, planting seeds of empathy, and reminding us of what truly matters.
Now, with Eden Veaux Books, I get to share that gift with a wider world. And if even one story I’ve written becomes a cherished memory for a child the way my grandmother’s stories became for me, then I’ve done what I set out to do.
